10 Ways To Speed Up Your PC Guaranteed! – Number (9)
Author: adminI’m sure you have noticed that everytime you open up My Computer to browse folders that there is a slight and some times a long delay. This is because Windows XP and Vista automatically search for network files and printers every time you open a System window such as My Computer (Figure 1). – The same can be applied to Vista (Figure 2). To fix this and to increase browsing significantly you can do the following:
Windows XP
1. Open My Computer
2. Click on Tools menu
3. Click on Folder Options
4. Click on the View tab.
5. Uncheck the Automatically search for network folders and printers check box
6. Click Apply
7. Click Ok
8. Reboot your computer
